creating word art pieces at camp is easy. im constantly in my bible because im teaching the girls and listening to others lessons – so the inspiration is always flowing. plus a big part of my job is to sit on a comfy couch surrounded by some of the best people in the world as we wait for something to go terribly wrong (which it rarely does!) – so there is plenty of time and drawing while talking is the PERFECT environment for creating!!! here’s some of what happened over thanksgiving weekend:

spent the weekend at Forest Home having a blast teaching and spending time with jr high and high school girls and a few of my favorite people. yesterday afternoon we had some crafty time and decorated mugs… a few friends asked for a little assistance and i of course was excited to write out a few favorite verses and lyrics:
he will rejoice over you with singing
rejoice in the lord always
then sings my soul
while i was up there i also did a few paper and ink word art pieces for friends… photos are coming your way soon

i met some pretty fabulous people in college – one of which was angelina. she lived across the hall from me and we quickly became friends. she was an art major too and we ended up sharing the gallery for our senior shows right before graduation. we traveled together, once to chicago… during our trip we spent a day visiting the very shy guy that she had a crush on and now, six years later, they are married and expecting a little bundle of joy early next year. congrats to the new family – i miss you both and am SO excited for you!

It’s the off season for wedding invites, but i have had a few type-a brides (my favorites! – you know who you are) who are ON IT and have already been talking to me about invites for weddings that are many MANY months away. when i’m not dreaming up their lovely paper products (and OH YES they will be lovely… especially since i’ll have had over 6 months to plan them :)!!! ) i’ve been doing some super fun birthday invites, baby shower invites, and LOTS and LOTS of rubber stamps. so here’s one of many non-wedding invite posts i’ll be making over the next month or two….
mary’s daughter – samantha (see the stamp i designed for her wedding here)- was one of my roommates in college and when i came up to chelan for sam’s wedding i FELL IN LOVE with the city! alot of that was due to mary and the rest of her family’s hospitality… so i was of course honored to design invites for her 50th bday! sam wanted a fall theme for the party and i decided to throw in a few autumn-y doodles to match
i covered the back with a fall-ish pattern
happy birthday mary! hope it was a great one!
